Munich

Munich is one of the happiest places. The bear gardens are full of people drinking, laughing and having a good time at all times of the day. Lisa and I began our visit having breakfast in Marienplatz and watching the Glockenspiel clock tower do it's dance. Most people are use to having toast with their eggs, but in Munich you get one big bretzel! For lunch we had beers, kraut and of course strudel in the adorable Viktualienmarkt. We strolled parks and on cooler days visited the Spielzeug toy museum and saw the galleries of the Pinakothek. Hofbrauhaus was our final send off with a lederhosen clad band and all.

Salzburg

A day trip to Salzburg was always part of the plan. It is the land of "The Sound of Music"! We took the train into town and despite the rainy weather we were ready to explore. Mirabell Gardens was just as beautiful as we'd imagined it to be.  We skipped around fountains just as the Von Trapp children would do. We sought out edelweiss plants and sang about the hills being alive. Before our day ended, we sampled the Austrian famed sacher torte and grabbed a Julius Meinl coffee for the train home.
